Join the NYJO Ambassadors for an evening of well-loved jazz classics from the Great American Songbook. The NYJO Ambassadors are six members of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO), the UK’s top young professional jazz orchestra, led by Artistic Director and trumpeter Mark Armstrong. The NYJO is a charity, whose mission is to promote jazz as an exciting, engaging and inspirational art form through world-class performances and education work. NYJO’s flagship band is the UK’s premier youth (under 26) jazz orchestra, performing around 40 concerts annually – nationally and internationally. Alongside these performances, NYJO delivers inspirational education work wherever it goes. NYJO also operates a weekly Academy, which offers London-based access to jazz ensembles for young musicians of varying levels and abilities.

For more information, visit www.nyjo.org.uk

The programme is to be decided, but is likely to include a diverse range of well-known jazz standards such as works by Ellington, Monk and Gershwin, as well as contemporary compositions.  We are grateful to Making Music for supporting this concert through their Selected Artist Scheme.
